Awana is my Family - A Charitable Trust Story

In comparison to others, Lois Andre could be considered an Awana late starter. She was 35 when she first joined Awana - not the usual age of most of our clubbers. But after 30+ years with Awana, she considers the kids, the leadership and the Awana staff her family.

"I think Awana is the greatest youth organization in the world because it challenges kids. It teaches God's Word and provides a way to get into the homes of families who don't know Jesus Christ."

For years, Lois taught Cubbies. "I have no children of my own, so I just love my Awana kids." Today many of her former Cubbies still keep in touch, and Lois takes great pride in their accomplishments.

"I remember Nathan having an asthma attack at the Awana Olympics as if it were yesterday. Today he is going on his second trip as a missionary to Morocco. Jenny just graduated from Moody Bible Institute. I am proud of them all. No one but God knows what a difference Awana made in their lives at such an early age."

Today Lois no longer teaches in Awana yet supports the ministry in other ways. Lois prays for Awana everyday and sponsors 13 Awana clubs around the world through the Adopt-A-Club program.

"I'm not rich, but the Bible says in Matthew 6:20, 'Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.' That is why several years ago I established a charitable remainder Unitrust with Awana as the beneficiary. I receive a check from Awana each quarter. You see, Awana is my family, and I knew I could trust them."

Today, you too can establish a charitable remainder Unitrust and receive the benefits of tax savings, secure income, capital gains tax avoidance and eternal rewards.

"The process is not difficult. I just called Jeff Schacherer at Awana headquarters, and he helped me with all the details."

Awana can assist you in being a good steward of the resources God has given you. For further information on the charitable remainder Unitrust or other IRS-approved estate planning tools that can protect your loved ones and further God's work, please call Jeff Schacherer, Director of Financial and Estate Planning Services, at 800-22-AWANA or by a e-mail. There is no cost or obligation.
